STOP CALLING ME A THIEF – HON: ROBINAH NABBANJJA

Leader of government business Hon: Robinah Nabbanja has strongly warned whoever continues to tarnish her name to stop with immediate effect.

While addressing the residents in Lukaya, Hon: Robinah Nabbanja advised leaders to work for the people who elected them in positions of power instead of always blaming the government.

She also responded to remarks made by the leader of the opposition Hon: Joel Ssenyonyi who called out her name to help and join the fight against corruption.

However, this didn’t impress Hon: Robinah Nabbanja who later responded by issuing a warning to anyone who continues to relate her name with corruption.

The warning was issued especially to the opposition politicians who have always tagged her name to corruption scandals arising in the country.

“I’m not a thief, have never stolen anything from the government. Stop calling me a thief!” Hon Nabbanjja cautioned.

It should be remembered Hon: Nabbanja was among the leaders who shared some of the iron sheets meant for distribution to poor people in the Karamoja region.

Shockingly, many of these leaders took the iron sheets for personal use and benefit.

Hon: Nabbanja Biography

Born 17th December 1969 is a Ugandan educator and politician who serves as the Prime Minister of Uganda, having been nominated to the office on 8 June 2021. She was formally confirmed by the Parliament on 21 June 2021. She replaced Ruhakana Rugunda, who was named to the post of Envoy For Special Duties In The Office Of The President of Uganda. She is the first female prime minister of Uganda.

Previously, she served as State Minister of Health for General Duties in the Ugandan cabinet, between 14 December 2019 and 3 May 2021.

She concurrently serves as the elected Member of Parliament for Kakumiro District Women Constituency in the 11th Parliament (2021–2026), a role she also carried in the 10th Parliament (2016–2021)
