Ugandan traders and business owners under their respective organizations and lead authorities are set to go on strike tomorrow (Tuesday 16th).

Those who belong to Kampala City Traders Association (KACITA), UTEA, and KAAFO including others held a meeting and agreed on a common goal to keep all their businesses and shops under a lock and key.

The decision was reached in protest of the way how revenue collecting authorities are collecting and introducing new taxes which they have found unconvincing and stressing.

Led by Kampala City Traders Association (KACITA) protest the unfair taxes and EFRIS. They have refuted claims that suggested that they had called off the protest saying the move will be carried on countrywide.

They had been requested by some government officials to postpone the protest, promising to ensure that they would meet President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni this Friday.

However, they declined to buy the promise, saying they could only accept if there was an official document from the state house.

They are also against the idea of a handful of them meeting Mr. Museveni, arguing that the fountain of honor should be able to organize the said meeting in an open place where many of them will have to share with him their business grievances.
