Music is a uniting factor in our lives as humans. It knows no boundaries or any divisions .  Whenever there is good music experience expect people to be happy. It can be a healing factor in sorrow and medicine to the sick. Whenever celebrations are bound to happen, music is always the leading ingredient to spice up the ocassion.

The pearl of Africa has produced several musicians from all angles of the country with great talent to reach the international stage . Among them is the self proclaimed “queen of the Nile” Jackie Chandiru.

FAMILY

Jackie Chandiru was born in Nsambya Hospital on 13th September in 1984  to Mr. Felix Ayaa and Josephine Ayaa. The singer is currently 39 years old. Mr . Felix Ayaa resides from West Nile in Maracha District. While the mother is a Muganda by tribe from the central region.

EDUCATION

She attained her elementary education from Lugogo Nursery school and Nakasero primary school. Later joined Nabisunsa girls for secondary education in ordinary level and Viena College for advanced level.

She studied industrial fine art and graduated from Makerere University in Kampala.

HOBIES

She was an athlete and loved football while at Nabisunsa girls school. A leader of the school drama club and also a member of badminton.

Jackie Chandiru career took a sharp rise after participating in the Coca Cola pop star singing competition. Luckily, she was among the top three ladies including Cinderalla Sanyu and Lillian Mbabazi selected to form a musical band called Blu3.

After the five years recording and performing as a group, they disbanded to launch their solo careers.

Jackie released great albums which topped the charts including singles wining multiple accolades.

The queen of the Nile was awarded best video of the year by Pearl of Africa Music Awards for her single Agasi. She also won best RnB singlein the DIVA awards for “Agasi”

However , her career took a sharp turn due to her addiction to drugs. She has been in and out of rehab to regain her singing career.
