Bwanika Shafik Remanded For Trespassing into State House

Mr. Bwanika Shafik, aged 40, has been remanded to Luzira Prison for allegedly trespassing into State House Nakesero.

He is being accused or charged with the case related to the intention of annoying the Head of the state, His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. 

Bwanik a resident of the Makindye barracks zone in Makindye division, was remanded after he appeared before the Buganda Road Court Grade One Magistrate Ronald Kayizzi and pleaded not guilty to the charge of criminal trespass.

He is being accused of committing the offense on April 30th, 2024 at State House Nakasero in the Kampala District, the accused entered the state House premises a restricted area.

A woman who was in Bwanika’s company was shot during the April 30 incident.

“A 40-year-old man has been remanded to Luzira prison for allegedly trespassing into state House Nakasero with the intention to annoy the President of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. Bwanika Shafik, a resident of Makindye Barracks zone in Makindye division has appeared before Buganda Road Court Grade One Magistrate Ronald Kayizzi and pleaded not guilty to the charge of criminal trespass and threatening violence. It is alleged that on April 30th, 2024 at State House Nakasero in the Kampala District, the accused entered into the state House premises being a restricted area with the intent to intimidate or annoy the president of the Republic of Uganda”.
