Hon. Mathius Mpuuga cerebrates political milestone in Masaka.

Nyendo Mukungwe member of parliament and comisioner Hon. Mathius Mpuuga has today celebrated the achievements in his political career.

The function held at Kitovu Arena attracted hundreds of his supporters and friends from all over Masaka to celebrate with him.

Notable figures from some opposition political parties were in attendance including Joseph Kabuleta from NEED, Hon John Keny Lukyamuzi from the conservative party (CP), Medard Lubega Ssegona, and parliamentary commissioner Esther Afoyochan the woman MP of Zombo District.

Hon. Mathius Mpuuga has been at the helm of his career since joining the political scene with numerous key leadership positions from his political party the National Unity Platform.

He has served as the leader of the opposition and currently is a parliamentary commissioner representing the National Unity Platform (NUP). Despite the low turn up, the commissioner shared his next move to rally opposition members to come together and fight for change.

However, the bitter fallout with the party leadership at the National Unity Platform was fully visible, the function was ignored by the party. It did not send any representatives or any message to represent it.

It is on record that Hon. Mathius Mpuuga was suspended from representing the National Unity Platform after numerous allegations of corruption and abuse of office.

The two sides have been at loggerheads since the outcome and revelation of the further details concerning a ‘ service award’ which was given to Hon. Mathius Mpuuga.

According to the National Unity Platform spokesperson, Hon. Joel Ssenyoyi, the actions of the parliamentary commissioner were unacceptable and fell below the standard of a leader.
