The Uganda police force has summoned the secretary general of National Unity Platform (NUP) David Loius Rubongoya for a meeting scheduled on 4th/07/2024 at the police headquarters. According to the Police, the invitation is to clarify the activities of the school of leadership operated by the party.
Police and the National Unity platform have been at loggerheads for a long time with both parties blaming each other for inappropriate behaviour, especially during political campaigns.
” This week we received an invitation from the police regarding our school of leadership activities. Our team will be there to interact with them. We hope this is not an attempt to block and frustrate our activities illegally. All political parties in the Uganda have always undertaken the training of members and we have not seen the Police take an interest in their activities! The NRM has been having ideology clinics, and FDC recently launched a leadership academy. Other parties have always undertaken training including ourselves. We have been training our leaders ever since we started except that now, our school of leadership has centralized these trainings,” a statement from the NUP.
It is on record that the National Unity Platform launched the first-ever leadership school in East Africa a month ago and invited all those interested in learning about leadership to enroll for the studies.
Party president Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu a.k.a Bobi Wine emphasised to teach the public more about their civil and human rights while the leaders to be exemplary and desist from attempts of corruption .
