Media personality-turned-politician Miles Rwamiti Apuuli is gearing up to take on Leader of Opposition, Hon. Joel Ssenyonyi Bisekezi in the race for Nakawa West MP seat come 2026 general elections.
The former Urban TV and Spark TV “Koona” presenter made his political ambitions clear as he addressed the press in an interview saying he can do better for his home area.
He noted that he feels this is the right time that he should assume the MP position for the region reasoning that he has lived longer, married, and worked in Nakawa so he knows the challenges faced by the people in that area.
“It’s no secret that I’m interested in running for the Nakawa West parliamentary seat. I believe I’m the right man for the job because I have lived my entire life there. I married and got kids from there so basically I’m one of the people. Besides, the area has a lot of problems such as poor roads that need to be fixed. I won’t be coming under any party because all I care about is service delivery,” Miles Rwamiti Apuuli stated.
In the 2021 general elections, Miles Rwamiti contested for the Hoima East MP seat on the Forum For Democratic (FDC) Party card and lost massively collecting a paltry 149 votes in the whole consistency as he lost to Independent Dr. Dr. Patrick Isingoma.
When asked which political party he intends to contest for the Nakawa West MP seat, he advised voters not to look at the party where one is running but to vote for eligible leaders who bring services closer to them.
Last time when he was beaten in the elections, his colleagues including Jenkins Mukasa and Eddie Sendi turned him into a joking matter and went ahead to exchange unpleasant words toward each other.
This time around wait to witness how this will pan out but we wish him the best of luck in his ambitions.
