The opposition political party, the National Unity Platform, has called on its members all over the world to register regardless of their destination after introducing an online registration campaign and slashing the 1000 shillings registration fees for card membership.
The party, currently the largest opposition in the country, has also encouraged its mobilization teams to step up in their activities since the country is nearing the course of elections.
According to the party secretary general, Louis Rubongoya, the party has observed that many Ugandans are still very poor and can’t afford to buy party cards especially those in far areas like deep in the villages. However, they would love to be registered members of the party at heart without spending any coin.
” Many people in our country are still very poor and are not able to spend money to buy party cards, but love the party at heart. They can now register freely and for those willing to buy party cards and can afford them, it is also okay. We continue to call upon well-wishers who would also want to sponsor the party in various activities to come on board and cooperate.” he added
It is on record that the National Unity Platform (NUP) is one of the fastest-growing parties in the country. Since its inception, the party has registered massive growth in all the regions of the country.
This has been observed in huge numbers whenever they do mobilization campaigns in every region they go. The party’s popularity has also grown compared to when it started years ago dominating only the central region.
