Singer Cindy Sanyu, legally known as Cinderella Sanyu Okuyo, has called authorities to probe the Eddy Kenzo-led Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) over the allocation of Shs 13 billion government stimulus fund that were given to the artists.
She made the call following accusations that the money did not reach all sections of artists especially those who belong to the Uganda Musicians Association (UMA).
The of three reasoned that is not fair for the government to dish out cash that belongs to creatives and only one side receives the cash neglecting the rest.
“Whoever is carrying out investigations should help us and perform a probe against UNMF concerning the money Shs13 Billion they recieved from the gov’t because we at UMA have never got any funds. It doesn’t make any sense when they say that the money was for the industry and it only stopped in Mutundwe”, Cindy Sanyu wants UNMF Probed.
During the interview, Cindy also hinted at how she plans holding a concert in 2025.
She disclosed that by December or early 2025 she will have confirmed the venue and date where she will be staging a solo concert since she got done with the Blu*3 Reuion show which was a success held in June.
“Expect a concert from me very soon. I believe by December or January, I will have announced the venue and date. I believe it is time I held one because I got done with the Blu*3 Reunion concert and battle. Now next on the agenda is a concert of my own”, Cindy Sanyu added.
