Comedian Innocent Kafeero Tobby, a.k.a Dr. T Amale, has praised fellow content creators for their creativity in uplifting the Ugandan comedy industry.
He commended the creativity of comedians like MC Mariachi, Madrat and Chiko, and Reign & Maulana, among others, for their role in promoting comedy in Uganda.
He noted that the absence of an effective copyright law has left many comedians struggling to earn a living, forcing some to move to the Western world in search of greener pastures.
He also pointed out that local comedians are more talented than the whites, but they have to perform at different hangouts every night to earn a living.
Dr. T Amale added that had the Ugandan comedy industry had an effective copyright law, many creatives would have benefited from it positively and expanded the art to different regions across the country.
He stresses that the lack of a functioning copyright law act has hindered creatives and only left them to be beggars surviving on handouts from the government and well-wishers.
Dr. T Amale is one of the creatives who has managed to make a fortunate out of his drama and acting skill despite having parted ways with the group that he begun with the Bizonto a few years back.
He now enjoys living a large life and his skits were he stings the opposition has earned him more love and support among the ruling regime officials.
