Aaronx, a Ugandan fast-rising singer, has opened up about his journey to stardom in the music industry.
He says he has spent four years trying to establish himself as a standalone brand, working as a taxi conductor and advocating for safe male circumcision.
His hit song “Njalwala” was recorded in 2022, released in 2023 October but gained popularity in 2024.
Aaronx credits hard work, branding, self-belief, and persistence for his success.
He explained that he worked as a conductor during the COVID-19 Pandemic lookdown that sent the world on its knees palaraizing most of the activities which also restricted movement.
He narrated that when the restrictions on movements were eased, and taxi’s allowed to carry number of the passengers, they would double the fares on a journey.
He stressed that he used to work along Matuga road and he loved the job because it was very profitable at the time.
Aaronx worked with his uncle and would enjoy the benefits that came with the job but after a certain period of time his sister got her a different job.
That is when he joined the safe male circumcision project in Jinja and when the project ended he went to study a marketing course.
He also notes that studying marketing helped him acquire skills of improving his career that he had taken months and years working on.
