Azawi, Swangz Avenue singer, has sent her condolences to the victims of the Kiteeze garbage landfill disaster and warned of potential future dangers in the city center of Uganda.
While appearing on Capital FM’s political show “The Capital Gang”, she pointed out how the country is a mess.
She criticized the leadership for not taking action against the mushrooming fuel pumps and reserves near schools and markets, which could lead to a fire breakout any time.
She shared her opinion disclosing that leadership should be very careful when locating people to build fuel reserve plants.
She highlighted how people’s lives are at risk giving the example of Green Hill Acamedy School which is located along Kibuli road saying it is seated in between three fuel reserves adding just in case some slight mistake happened, many students would lose their lives.
She also pointed out the Mogus plant in Banda saying it was set up near a market which puts the lives of people working in the market in danger.
Azawi also expressed her anger towards the Kampala Capital City Authority’s Deputy Executive Director Eng. David Luyimbazi, saying she wouldn’t like to see him speak again.
What we saw in kiteezi, is just a start. Our city is on a ticking time boom. Fuel pumps are all over the city some are even near schools.
