Juma Balunywa, an events promoter and member of the United National Events Promoters Association (UNEPA), has stated that it is against the ethical code of conduct for members to hold two concerts on the same date.
He explained that this ruling was passed during the formation of the association, but the then president, Abbey Musinguzi, had violated the rule.
“As United National Events Promoters Association, it is against our ethical code for our members to organize Concerts on the same dates. Promoter Abtex was the first to break the United National Events Promoters Association’s ethical conduct when he organized Alien Skin’s Concert on the same day as Pallaso”, Juma Balunywa said in an interview
Balunywa also claimed that the government is fighting against the promoters’ association and that the older generation of band musicians makes more money than the new breed.
“The Government is fighting us as promoters, they don’t us to streamline and regulate our job”, he added.
When asked to weigh in between the old generation of band musicians and the new breed that makes more money, he quickly responded by ranking the older generation.
“The Concerts for older “band” musicians make more money than the young “new school.”, Juma Balunywa added
