Local dancehall artist Gibson Wabuyu a.k.a Gravity Omutujju has clarified that is not a member or a supporter of the ruling National Resistance Movement political party (NRM) despite performing in most of its functions.
According to the artist, he is a family man and needs to look for ways of making money through performances. So he can not turn down any offer as long as he is going to get paid for his services.
” I don’t belong to a particular political party. Am available to perform at any function as long as they are willing to pay me. Am a family man who has responsibilities. If I don’t work then how will I survive? ” he questioned.
To add to that, Gravity also claimed that the opposition political party the National Unity Platform, led by former artist turned politician Bobi Wine tried to book him to perform at one of its functions but later they declined after he asked for a simple offer of fueling his car.
” Sometime back National Unity Platform (NUP) approached me and wanted to book me. However, they chickened out after I asked them to buy fuel for my car to come and perform at the function.” Gravity Omutujju claimed.
However, Gravity Omutujju also noted that he can never wear any items of clothing identifying him to a particular political party because they divide his fan base. Yet for him is only considering his job as a musician who is supposed to perform and entertain the fans.
