Bobi Wine and team allegedly shot at on way from thanksgiving

The president of the National Unity Platform Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu a.k.a Bobi Wine has been allegedly shot at by security forces while on his way from a Thanksgiving ceremony in Bulindo, Kiira Municipality Wakiso district.

Bobi Wine and his team had been invited to attend a thanksgiving ceremony by one of their prominent lawyers George Musisi.

On arrival, everything was fine and the ceremony was held with many activities to thank God for the achievements Mr. George Musisi had.

However, after the ceremony, Bobi Wine and the team embarked on the journey back to Kampala where they encountered resistance from numerous security forces.

Amidst the scuffle between Bobi Wine’s team and the security forces, a teargas canister was fired and it injured his left leg.

His team hurriedly picked him up and rushed him to St.Francis Nsambya Hospital in Kampala for treatment.

According to Bobi Wine, he is to undergo medical surgery to remove the fragments of a teargas canister that was fired at him.

” Am to undergo a medical surgery tomorrow to remove the fragments of the teargas canister” he told the media.

However, the Uganda police force has issued out a statement denying earlier allegations that Mr. Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, the party president of the National Unity Platform had been shot at with bullets.

According to the police, during an altercation, the officers on site claim that he stumbled while getting into his vehicle, causing the injury on his left leg.

The police also promised to carry out an investigation into the matter to clarify the facts.
