The management of China Town supermarket ,Lugogo mall ,has cleared the air about the supply and price of their products on sale. This is because of the hype on social media including very expensive items going for a very low price.
Which has excited many clients from allover the country to come and do shopping. Various videos have been making rounds on facebook and TikTok with many shoppers wondering how such items can go for such low prices.
A refrigerator which was sold at 700k-1million in the ordinary shops could go for around 500k at China Town.
However, the management has come out to clarify that some videos on social media were misleading including those that claimed a refrigerator was sold at 70k . Something which is not true.
“There are no refrigerators sold at 70k in our supermarket. All the refrigerators and cookers are supplied by local suppliers. They have a price range. There is no way we can accept that because they have to protect other clients they have. So when we have such abnormal prices other clients will not be ordering stock from them . It will be so bad and affecting their business too.
We are not importing the fridges and we are getting them from local suppliers. There are so many manufacturers who are now making fridges, cookers, Tvs and so many. We are getting all these products from them.” the management stated.
Furthermore, the management of China Town claimed that most of the products being sold are supplied by the factories which where set up by the president Museveni directive.
Afew of the products are being imported into the country.
