DENIS MASINDE “SAFE HANDS” ONYANGO LIFE AND CAREER.

Sports can be a thrilling adventure world over especially when winning. Denis Masinde Onyango is a true testimony among goalkeepers to have ‘Safe Hands’ and technical know-how to win games even when faced with a difficult opponent.

FAMILY

Denis Masinde Onyango was born in Kampala on 15 May 1985 and is currently 38 years old. He has several siblings Lillian Nabwire, Hellen Ajambo, and Ivan Mubambo. He is a family man and married to Barbara Namubiru.

EDUCATION

He attended Nsambya primary school and later joined Peters College Tororo for secondary education. He also joined Kitante Hill School for an advanced certificate.

CAREER

Denis Masinde Onyango was so talented in football and was spotted while playing for the sharing youth team in Nsambya. He was introduced to Villa Sports Club due to his great talent and skill in goalkeeping. After a long impressive performance at Villa Sports Club, he was invited to play for the under-23  Uganda national team.

His former coach at Villa Sports Club, Micho invited him to play for St George Football Club allowing him to showcase his skills internationally.

Later he transferred to notable teams in South Africa giving his career a sharp rise to international recognition and making him the champion he is.

Teams like SuperSport United, Black Aces, Bidvest Wits, and currently Mamelodi Sundowns have gained so many champion accolades courtesy of Mr. Safe Hands Denis Masinde Onyango.

ACHIEVEMENTS

He led Uganda’s national team to the Gabon 2017, Egypt 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, and  Mamelodi Sundowns to their first-ever Total CAF Champions League title in 2016. He was also voted the Total African player of the year.
