Police starts investigations in robbery incident at Eso Corner in viral clip

A viral CCTV camera footage has been making rounds on social media displaying how Mr. Joshi Keshav, a 32-year-old indian national, tour and travel company operator based at Crown House, Kampala Road, was attacked and assaulted by robbers riding boda-boda’s at the Eso corner junction.

The incident that took place on 15th July 2024 is reported to happened at at noon (12 PM).

The thugs who were riding four boda-boda’s each carrying two purported ‘passengers’ attacked Mr. Joshi Keshav after when he was stuck in traffic at Eso corner and proceeded to beat and rob him of his property.

The items that were stolen from him included a laptop estimated at Ugx 2.2 million, cash amounting to Ugx 150,000 and an Ecobank debit card and keys. The positive news is that Mr. Joshi Keshav sustained minor injuries and managed to report the robbery at Nkurumah Road Police Station.

Following the clip’s viral spread, Police has issued a statement noting how they have gotten underway with investagations into the matter.

The suspects who will be arrested will be brought to book and punished for their dirty deeds against the citizens of the nation.

“A team of investigators is diligently tracing Mr. Keshav’s movements from the start of his journey to the location of the incident. Numerous clues have been gathered to aid in the ongoing efforts to apprehend the suspects involved in this crime”, ASP Luke Owoyesigyire Deputy Public Relations Officer, Kampala Metropolitan Police
