No place to call home -Kitara Football club

Bunyoro region football giants, Kitara FC, have been left without any further option than hosting their international matches abroad after their request to use St.Mary’s Stadium Kitende was turned down.

The Uganda Premier League club has no facility certified by the football governing body CAF to host international matches.

However, the country has only two facilities that are certified for international games: Namboole Stadium and St.Mary’s Stadium.

According to the management of St.Mary’s Stadium, they acknowledged the request done by Kitara Football Club, however, their stadium could not be available for the required purpose due to the existence of earlier scheduled engagements.

In a letter to Kitara FC, the management of St Mary’s Stadium, claimed that the scheduled events could not be adjusted at short notice.

In reaction to the above, the club has unveiled a massive fundraising drive to collect money to facilitate their campaign on their international debut against Al Hilal Benghazi from Libya.

The club expects to collect over 200 million shillings from its loyal fan base and wellwishers of the Ugandan football sport.

Kitara FC is one of the most promising new entrants in the Uganda Premier League with great performance both on the field and management.

They have built a loyal fan base that travels with them wherever they go chanting and keeping the spirit of the team high.

Even though it is a village team, Kitara FC has outshined many clubs around Kampala to triumph to greatness.

Something many clubs must copy and implement if they are to challenge the ever-rising Kitara FC.
