I will not stop fighting corruption-LOP Joel Ssenyonyi

Former NTV journalist and current Leader of Opposition,  Hon.Joel  Ssenyonyi, has vowed to continue with his fight against corruption despite receiving threats from various unknown people.

According to Hon.Joel Ssenyonyi , the battle to fight against corruption has become more complicated because whenever he engages the corruption tendencies , the corrupt people also fight back.

” If you fight corruption , it fights you back. The things we dip up annoy  so many people, so they call us and threaten us on social media and they make all manner of threats. I dismiss them many times because i know there are people who will make all the noise they want, ” Hon. Joel Ssenyonyi .

The Nakawa based member of parliament faced several accusations from some controversial news bloggers who have in turn alleged that he was bribed with 1.7 billion Ugandan shillings to withdraw the report for Civil Aviation Authority(CAA) .

The news bloggers have threatened to avail evidence of the matter if he doesn’t bow down to their demands. The bloggers including former workmate at NTV ,Dean Lubowa Ssava, who has threatened on several occasions to fight him and the opposition political party the National Unity Platform (NUP).

WHO IS DEAN LUBOWA SSAVA

Dean Lubowa Ssava is a controversial blogger and former journalist whose record has been engulfed in many stories of blackmail. He has worked for several media houses , however , they parted ways over his conduct.

It is on record that his name has been under scrutiny on several occasions after many people reported him to the police for scaming them .

While working for Nation Media Group, NTV, he was expelled for obtaining money from an Asian to run a story which he didn’t do.

He was also arrested by security forces as he attempted to scam the head of Shia community in Uganda, Omar Bongo Patur, then the LCV chairperson  of Mayuge district.

Katwe Police station , arrested Dean Lubowa Ssava for fraud, Human trafficking and obtaining money by false pretence. Lubowa had used the agency global skills International limited , to receive money from people promising them jobs abroad and he  switched off his phones.

It is also on record that Dean Lubowa continued with his conduct after obtaining money from unsuspecting youth claiming to get them jobs in the Gulf states but he disappeared. His case was registered at under SD ref 47/05/03/2018.

His conduct has been shadowed with a number of controversial stories wherever he has worked especially as a journalist.

Currently, Hon. Joel Ssenyonyi has threatened to sue him if he doesn’t stop the blackmail and propaganda.
