Nyege Nyege festival

The Nyege Nyege Music and Arts Festival 2024 edition will be going down from the 14th to the 17th at the Source of the Nile Jinja/ Njeru, Uganda.

The dates and venue have been confirmed following a successful press conference that was held earlier today by Talent Africa whereby they disclosed that this year’s theme is dubbed “Afrogalactic Carnival”.

This year’s event promises to be a vibrant fusion of future-forward music and ancestral traditions while showcasing Uganda’s natural beauty and rich culture tapestry.

This will be the event’s 9th edition and it will include showcases and highlights from talented refugee communities residing in Uganda with performances from Sudanese, Congolese, Eritrean, Burundian, and Ethiopian artists.

Based on the organizers, Derek Debru explained that Nyege Nyege looks at reflecting Uganda’s hospitality, and cultural adversity, and advocates for peace including serving a good time which is the ultimate meaning of the term “Nyege Nyege”.

The fun-filled event usually attracts several revelers from different parts of the world, and will also feature performances and showcases from South Africa, Ivory Coast, Brazil, and India who are expected to spice up the event with unique styles of craft and arts performances for the three-day long event.

The final event’s artists lineup will be officially announced on the 1st of July as we will be getting to know who the guest artists are from Kenya, Rwanda, and Tanzania to light up the event.

The 12-acre Source of the Nile in Njeru, Jinja where the 2024 edition will be hosted boasts of a brand-new aquapark, ample parking space, camping infrastructure, and beautiful natural scenery.
