Over the years, Uganda has had many notable lawyers, especially through the famous Law Development Centre (LDC). Among them is Medard Lubega Ssegona who has been an outstanding figure. The soft-speaking legislator has been running many errands within his sphere including being a politician, lawyer, Businessman, and a family man.

FAMILY
Medard Lubega Ssegona was born on 1st September 1975 and he is 48 years of age. He is a family man and married to Diana Lubega with beautiful children.
EDUCATION
Medard Lubega Ssegona graduated with a diploma in legal practice from the Law Development Centre (LDC). He has 2LLB(Hons) from Makerere University in 1997.
He studied for his advanced certificate of Education (UACE) from Caltec Academy Makerere in 1995-1997 after finishing the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) from Entebbe Parents SS.
WORK
Currently, the legislator is the Parliamentary representative for Busiro East and is from the opposition political party National Unity Platform (NUP). He also serves as a member of the committee on legal affairs in parliament.
He works with Lukwago and company advocates to date with several other businesses known to his name.
POLITICAL CAREER
Medard Lubega Ssegona joined the National Unity Platform after a long hiatus from his parent party, the Democratic Party. He contested in the 2021 elections where he garnered 88,918 electro votes to emerge as the winner for the Parliamentary seat of Busiro East.
NOTABLE CASES
During his tenure as a certified lawyer, he has handled several cases with different magnitudes. The cases include high-profile Buganda Riots, the Rubaga North election petition involving Hon Moses Kasibante, and Sigh Katongole.
The walk-to-work cases during Dr. Kizza Besigye’s demonstrations around Kampala were later nullified due to his professionalism.
The lawyer has also represented Lord Mayor Elias Lukwago in a deep power struggle with former Executive Director Kampala City Authority Jenifer Musisi.
