Nansana Worship House Church leader, Pastor Wilson Bugembe has recounted a moment when he was sent a document asking him to relocate his Church because he built it in the wetlands.
Speaking to NBSTV After5 show, Pastor Bugembe stressed that when he received the letter, he felt the pressure was too much on him.
He added that such moments can force someone to contemplate committing suicide and when he crossed paths with the videos displaying how forcefully people were evicted from their homes in Lubigi, he was touched.
“I also reached an extent and felt it was too much and contemplated committing suicide. For example, I was sent a letter telling us that our church is located in a wetland and we were asked to remove it back in the day. That is why when I saw people in Lubigi being evicted, I was touched because I know how painful it feels”, Pastor Wilson Bugembe

Several families are still facing eviction and are being left hanging in the balance since they have nothing to do next as all they had, were their homes were they had lived for more than 20 years.
It is reported that when the Nansana evictions get done, NEMA will shift to Bwaise and Kawempe areas to evict people settling in the wetlands as the government authority tries to conserve the environment.
