The Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) has defied the odds and made a shocking move to remove a car hauler that was abandoned at the roadside six years ago in Kyaliwajara along Kireka Namugongo road.
The low-bed car hauler had turned into a hideout for wrongdoers and had been surrounded by the myth of mysterious owners who could not allow anything wrong to happen to it.
According to the residents, the car was being protected by some weird spirits and not allowed to move until the true owners arrived.
There were also other myths that the car belonged to one of the rich people who perished many years ago while on a boat cruise on Lake Victoria.
All the stories about the low bed car hauler created fear among the residents of the surrounding areas and many believed that anyone who tried to remove it would face death or something bad would happen to them.
However, the professional engineers of the Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) and Police embarked on the mission without fear of further repercussions as onlookers cheered on.
The low-bed car hauler was later successfully removed away from the roadside and taken to the parking lot.
