The leading opposition political party in parliament the National Unity Platform led by Leader of Opposition Hon. Joel Ssenyonyi has finally bowed to pressure and availed the lists of their missing and imprisoned supporters.
This was after the newly appointed Minister for Children and Youth Affairs Hon . Balaam Barugahare requested the leadership from the National Unity Platform to avail the lists in good faith so they can be released from prison.
This is not the first time such an issue has come to the floor of parliament, however, no action was successful as regards to the release of the prisoners.
The supporters have been in and out of courts without clear evidence pinning them to the crimes.
In the spirit of good faith, the Leader of the opposition Hon Joel Ssenyonyi accepted to once again avail these lists and directed whoever needed them to the party website to get more of the details. Some of the names were also shared by the party president Mr. Robert Kyagulanyi on his social media handles.

This was done to end the blame game and stop regime bloggers from spreading propaganda that the leaders of the National Unity Platform were earning big sums of money from abroad using political prisoners as bait.
It should be remembered that Mr. Balaam is one of the recently appointed ministers in a quick reshuffle which was done by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. After swearing in as a new Minister for youth and children affairs, Balaam pointed out that freeing political prisoners was one of his major things to do as soon as he set foot into the office.
