The organizing committee of the upcoming Thanksgiving event of Hon. Mathius Mpuuga, representative of Nyendo Mukungwe in parliament, led by Hon. Abed Bwanika has expressed concern if NUP party president Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu a.k.a Bobi Wine does not attend the event.
The event slated for the 21st of this month in Masaka, has been organised to thank God for the achievements and political milestones of the former leader of the opposition Hon. Mathius Mpuuga in parliament.
Hon. Mathius Mpuuga was the former leader of the opposition before being replaced by Hon. Joel Ssenyonyi after his two-year tenure at the helm of parliament.
He was posted as the parliamentary commissioner for parliament representing his party the National Unity Platform (NUP) before the two parties parted ways.
It should be recalled that Hon. Mathius Mpuuga is currently under suspension and not allowed to perform any political duties under his party.
The two parties have for a long time been at loggerheads accusing each other of misconduct.
However, it is not yet clear if Hon. Abed Bwanika one of the staunch supporters of Hon. Mathius Mpuuga has decided to swallow the pride and let go of the past.
Hon. Abed Bwanika has extended invitations to the party leadership and awaits a reply for attendance.
” I will be so surprised if President Kyagulanyi is absent at the event, I will also be so surprised if the entire leadership of National Unity Platform does not attend the event, I was given the authority from the committee which I lead to write and invite the secretary general David Loius, spokesperson Hon. Joel Ssenyonyi and the entire leadership, we shall be happy to see them come in Masaka because Hon. Mathius Mpuuga was the former leader of opposition,” dr. Abed Bwanika stated.
