Bobi Wine defies police , heads to Busoga with massive support.

The politics of defiance continue to flow in the blood vessels of National Unity Platform President Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine as he declined the orders from the Uganda Police force to conduct nationwide tours. The National Unity Platform team, early in the morning converged at the party headquarters to prepare for the long journey ahead.

Dressed in their famous red attire, jungle boots, and red caps the NUP diehards were in very high spirits ready for the journey. Bobi Wine briefed the teams and the media before setting off. According to him, they did everything following the right procedures including informing the police about their activities.

However, their long-awaited journey was almost cut short when they reached the Jinja Bridge to crossover to the Busoga sub-region. Police furiously engaged them in running battles and tear gas.

The CRIMINALS have blocked us from entering Kamuli District. Clouds of teargas and pink water over Kamuli. What a bunch of cowards!” Bobi Wine posted on his social media.

The actions of the Police to scare away NUP supporters were futile as it was overpowered by the large numbers that turned up to welcome the NUP leaders.

” The moment police and military fired so much tear gas and live bullets to block us from entering Kamuli District! They blocked the main road to Kamuli for several hours. These cowards injured some of our people and arrested others. I was very glad to see that despite all the provocation, our people remained very firm and resolute. Ultimately the PEOPLE will have the final word,” Bobi Wine posted on his social media.

The National Unity Platform is also slated to tour the Northern region starting on 24 MAY 2024. Bobi Wine and the team plan to begin their first tour in the Northern Region from Pallisa district.
