Hon. Allan Ssewanyana, Makindye West Member of Parliament, has revealed that he has yet to visit his colleague, Hon. Muhammed Ssegirinya, the Kawempe North lawmaker, who is currently hospitalized at Agakhan hospital in Nairobi, Kenya due to his confiscated passport.
Hon. Ssewanyana stated that he would need to pay a huge sum of money to get his passport back or when he has a very pressing issue that is when he thinks the government can give it to him back.
He explains that he recently communicated with Ssegirinya via phone call and based on how he sounded, he is improving healthwise compared to the past months.
Ssewanyana also revealed that Ssegirinya is gradually recovering and needs some more rest time to get back fully on his feet and gain some body weight.
It is true I’m yet to pay a visit to Hon. Muhammed Ssegyirinya in the hospital because my passport was consificated by the court and getting is a hustle or I either have to pay a huge sum of money to get it out or when I have a very pressing issue that is when I think the government can allow to give it to me back, MP Allan Ssewanyana stated in a recent interview on Sanyuka TV
It should be remembered that Hon. Ssewanyana and Hon. Ssegyirinya were arrested after the 2021 general elections and charged with cases related to terrorism.

The pair were accused of involvement in the Masaka panga attacks that saw the residents in the area having sleepless nights after the elections.
Several individuals lost lives until the security stepped in and took control of the area.
