Makindye, a city suburb in Kampala, has been likened to Las Vegas in the USA due to its high concentration of musicians, affordable rent, and numerous recreational centers by Mayor Ali Kasirye Mulyanayama Nganda.
Mayor Ali Mulyanayama compared Makindye to Las Vegas since the area attracts people from various walks of life due to its proximity to the capital city center while appearing in a television interview on Spark TV’s Mwasuze Mutya Show hosted by Stella Nante,
It has several recreational centers and talented individuals and he takes pride in his residential area since its markets are great, and it has five beaches.

He went ahead to disclose that he joined politics in 1997 after returning from America where he worked at KFC. He stated that he was inspired to join politics by Al Hajji Nasser Ssebagala and Chairman Shafiq.

He also urged the nation not to vote incompetent people into power reasoning that they most of the time do a disservice to the people they present.
