The decision was reached in protest of the way how revenue collecting authorities are collecting and introducing new taxes which they have found unconvincing and stressing.

Led by Kampala City Traders Association (KACITA) protest the unfair taxes and EFRIS. They have refuted claims that suggested that they had called off the protest saying the move will be carried on countrywide.

They had been requested by some government officials to postpone the protest, promising to ensure that they would meet President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni this Friday.
